Passport Companion allows you to explore the National Park Service.
The Passport Companion App will be discontinued due to recurring functionality issues.
We have been working diligently with a developer to fix the app, but the database service provider that was storing all the Passport App data went out of business, and when the data was migrated, a portion of user data was lost. We sincerely apologize for this error.
We do not know the extent of the data loss, or who was affected, but we are doing our best with the data that has been made available to us. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Within the next week you may receive an email with a personalized link, and if your data is available you will be able to retrieve it by clicking the link and following the instructions in the web portal. Please note that it is possible you will receive an email, but your data will not be available to retrieve. Be sure to check your spam folder.
Rather than continue with an app that does not reflect our standards, we are discontinuing the app as of October 31, 2019.
Effective immediately, the App Support inbox will only be available for data retrieval support. After the period of data retrieval, the App Support inbox will be suspended.
The analog Passport family is still the best way to visit the parks—see you at a Cancellation Station!
FAQs:
Will the app disappear?
The app will not disappear from your device or library until you delete it, but please be aware that it will not be updated with new park and cancellation information. App Support will only be available during the period of data retrieval, and will be fully suspended once the data retrieval period is over.
Can I still use the app?
If you want to! But do so with caution. Because the app will no longer be supported or updated, we advise against using it as a primary method of keeping track of your park visits and uploading photos. After the period of data retrieval, there will be no way to recover any park visit information added to the app.
What if I don’t receive an email?
If you do not receive an email by 11/08/19 then unfortunately you are one of the users whose data was completely lost.
